Małgorzata Szumowska is a Polish film director, screenwriter, and producer. Her most recent film, WOMAN OF was selected to play in competition at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. Her 2022 feature INFINITE STORM stars Naomi Watts and Billy Howle. In 2020, she, along with Polish cinematographer Michał Englert, co-directed NEVER GONNA SNOW AGAIN, which was selected as the Polish entry for Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards. In 2013, Małgorzata’s film IN THE NAME OF received the Teddy Award for Best Feature at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival, and the Grand Prix at the 32nd annual Istanbul Film Festival. Her film BODY was selected to be screened in the main competition section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival, where she won the Silver Bear for Best Director. In 2018, Małgorzata received the Jury Grand Prix at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival for her film MUG. Other early films include STRANGERS (2004), SCENES FROM LIFE (2008), ELLES (2011), and BODY (2015).
